Gregory “Greg” Mesa is a board-certified Physician Associate with more than 20 years of experience caring for patients across every stage of life. His clinical background includes primary care, family medicine, internal medicine, urgent care, emergency medicine, pediatrics, women’s health, weight management and chronic disease care.

Greg believes the best healthcare looks beyond symptoms and considers the whole person. He takes time to understand each patient’s health history, lifestyle and goals so that he can develop a practical, personalized care plan. He has a particular interest in metabolic health, including diabetes, high cholesterol, obesity and other conditions related to insulin resistance.

Throughout his career, Greg has cared for patients in rural community health centers, hospitals, urgent care clinics and private practices. He previously owned and operated a primary care practice in Western North Carolina, where he provided comprehensive family medicine services and performed a variety of in-office procedures. He also serves as a Physician Assistant with the National Disaster Medical System, providing medical care and support during public health emergencies.

Greg earned his Master of Health Sciences in Physician Associate Studies from Duke University and his bachelor’s degree in biochemistry and molecular biology from the University of Florida. He also completed postgraduate studies in health and human nutrition. He is currently licensed in both South Carolina and North Carolina and maintains certification through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.

Greg is conversational in Spanish and enjoys building relationships with patients from diverse backgrounds. He is committed to lifelong learning and helping patients feel informed, supported and confident in their healthcare decisions.
