Dr. Michael Hammer

Dr. Michael Chance Hammer brings years of Internal Medicine experience to his work with patients, with much of his career spent caring for people in hospital settings across South Carolina. His professional experience includes work with Spartanburg Regional Medical Center, Prisma Health Midlands, Roper St. Francis Healthcare, and The Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg.

His path to medicine began with an educational background that spans several fields. Dr. Hammer first earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from The Ohio State University before completing a Master of Science in Nutrition at Columbia University in New York. He later earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Following medical school, he completed his Internal Medicine residency at Summa Health System in Akron, Ohio. Since then, his career has included hospital-based medical care throughout South Carolina, giving him experience caring for patients with a variety of health needs.

Nutrition has also been part of Dr. Hammer’s professional background. Earlier in his career, he provided programs for patients interested in weight loss, adding another dimension to his experience in supporting health and wellness.

With a background that combines Internal Medicine, nutrition, and years of clinical practice, Dr. Hammer brings a broad perspective to patient care.
