Kelly McManis

Caring for patients across the hospital, post-acute, and home settings has given Kelly McManis, AGANP-C, APRN, experience with many stages of a patient’s care journey. Based in Charleston, South Carolina, her clinical background includes acute care, critical care, hospital medicine, and home care.

Kelly has worked with hospitalized patients from emergency department admission through discharge, caring for people across cardiac, neurological, orthopedic, oncology, pulmonary, intensive care, and transitional care units. Her post-acute experience has also included managing patient care independently while collaborating with attending physicians and specialists when additional support is needed.

Care in the home adds another dimension to her background. As a Homecare Nurse Practitioner, Kelly worked alongside Primary Care providers to support patients where they lived. Her responsibilities included medication education and care aimed at helping patients avoid unnecessary visits to the emergency room.

Before becoming a Nurse Practitioner, Kelly spent several years as a Registered Nurse caring for patients with complex and critical health needs. She also served as a preceptor for newly hired employees and nursing students, mentored new graduate nurses, and chaired a professional development committee focused on education and certification.

Kelly earned her Master of Science in Nursing through the Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner track at Walden University. She previously completed her nursing education at Good Samaritan College of Nursing and Health Science in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Her experience across different care settings brings a valuable perspective to her work with patients. From hospital care to home support, Kelly understands the importance of communication and collaboration as patients move through different stages of care.
